Light duty wire stripper with adjustable gauge selector

A high quality, light duty, precision wire stripper with an adjustable gauge selector and spring loaded action. Compact in size and ideal for users with smaller hands. For use in light industrial, hobby and educational applications. Lap jointed with PVC handles and a return spring in the centre. Overall length is 130mm.

These adjustable precision wire strippers are used in our own workshop, they are extremely hard wearing and have proven ideal for many applications including; DCC conversions, layout wiring, wire cutting, trimming component leads, wire stripping etc. These wire strippers are very robust, we have had the same pair for many years now and have found these to be very reliable. A tried and tested product which sees heavy daily use, a testament to their quality. With no real signs of wear during constant use they have become a trusty go-to tool and are always out on the workbench. Being compact in size they are easy to store away when not used, and the red handles ease location when stored or on the workbench.

The gauge selector is adjusted by slackening off the screw and nut within the handle (but not too loose), sliding the screw to the centre pivot (the business end!) and then gently closing the handles until the desired wire diameter can be seen between the jaws. This action slides the screw and nut assembly to the desired position along the handle. Tighten the screw and nut assembly and re-check before testing on a piece of wire. The stripper should now be set to your desired wire gauge so the insulation is stripped off but the strands of wire remain, the screw prevents the handles from closing fully. Adjustment is easy and takes only a few seconds to achieve.
